Why Choose This Material

Why Wood Fencing in New Hampshire

Classic Privacy at the Best Value

Wood privacy fencing delivers the most square footage of visual barrier per dollar. Cedar and pressure-treated pine give you full privacy without the premium composite price tag.

Customizable Designs

Board-on-board, stockade, picket, horizontal slat โ€” wood offers more design flexibility than any other material. Stain it, paint it, or let it weather naturally.

Posts Set Below 48" Frost Line

The single biggest reason wood fences fail in NH is shallow post depth. We set every post below the 48-inch frost line in concrete โ€” no heaving, no shifting.

Locally Sourced Materials

We source pressure-treated lumber and cedar from regional suppliers. Shorter supply chains mean fresher wood, better quality, and faster project timelines.

Common Questions

Wood Fencing FAQ

How deep do you set fence posts for wood fencing in NH?

Every post goes below the 48-inch NH frost line and is set in concrete. This is the single most important factor in whether your wood fence lasts 5 years or 25. We never shortcut post depth.

Should I choose cedar or pressure-treated pine?

Cedar is naturally rot-resistant and weathers to a beautiful silver-gray. Pressure-treated pine is more affordable and can be stained any color. Both perform well in NH when properly installed. We walk you through the tradeoffs during your estimate.

How often does a wood fence need maintenance?

Plan on staining or sealing every 2-3 years for the best longevity. Cedar can be left untreated if you like the natural weathered look. Pressure-treated should be stained within the first year after installation.
